Privacy Policy

Zaya ("we", "our", "us") is an astrology and numerology app. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Zaya does not show ads and does not sell your personal information. Zaya is provided by Arc Labs AS (org. no. 937 980 884), Nordahl Bruns gate 22C, 0165 Oslo, Norway, which is the controller of your personal data.

Zaya does not need your email address, phone number or password. When you open the app it creates an anonymous account so your profile can be saved. You can choose to save it with Sign in with Apple (iPhone) or Sign in with Google, so you can get your chart and progress back on a new phone. Apple then shares a stable account identifier and, only if you allow it, your name and an email address, which can be a private relay address that hides your real one. Google shares a stable account identifier, your name and your email address. If you stay anonymous, deleting the app without first deleting your account means we cannot link you to it again.

Your profile (name, birth details, focus areas and tone), your progress in the app (streak, stardust and the days you opened it) and the short summary the AI keeps to remember you are stored on our backend, hosted by Convex, so your chart and progress are the same each time you open the app and can be restored if you sign in with Apple. Your chat history, saved readings and the people you add are stored only on your device. Photos you share are sent for analysis and are not stored by us.

Your readings, forecasts, chat replies and compatibility readings are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. With your permission, which the app asks for before any AI feature is used, we send Anthropic your birth chart, your messages, photos you choose to share and the short memory summary. Anthropic uses this only to generate your responses, does not use it to train its models, and keeps it only for a limited period under its data retention policy. You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings > AI Readings, and the app will continue with offline readings.

• Convex: database, sign in and backend functions • Apple: Sign in with Apple, if you choose to use it • Google: Sign in with Google, if you choose to use it • AstrologyAPI: calculates planetary positions from your birth details • Open-Meteo: looks up the birth city you type to find its coordinates and time zone • Expo: delivers app updates and, if you allow them, notifications • RevenueCat: manages Zaya Pro subscriptions and receives your purchase history from the store (it receives an anonymous app ID, not your birth details) These providers process data on our behalf and only for the purposes above.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, advertising ID or browsing activity, and we do not use third party advertising or tracking. The only email address we can receive is the one Apple shares if you sign in with Apple, and we never use it for marketing.

If you allow notifications, Zaya schedules reminders on your device. The text of your daily reminder may be written by the AI from your chart and the current sky.

We keep your profile until you delete your account. Settings > Delete Account permanently erases your profile, chart, readings, reports and the account itself from our backend, and clears the data stored on your device. You can also email us to request deletion; see zaya.no/delete-account.

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Data is encrypted in transit between the app and our providers. Access to backend data is restricted to your own account.

Zaya is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.

Astrology and numerology content is provided for entertainment and self reflection. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
